The World is in Disarray

Humans are one of the most unique creatures on Earth. They are the only creature who can create ideas and act on them. They are the only species that can store information outside their bodies. In doing so they can manipulate the world around them in astonishing ways.

Humans have implemented many amazing ideas, like language and buildings and computers. But humans have also created many destructive ideas like war and slavery and pollution.

Why has this happened? Why are humans both amazing and destructive? And are we destined to live this way forever?

Why?

The human superpower is choice. No other creature can conjure up ideas and then choose which ideas to act on like humans can. That is what makes us so powerful. And dangerous.

When cells inside a body collaborate in nature, they live by simple rules that ensure both  they and the body will survive. When humans came along, their ability to choose enabled them to break these rules.

We are now at a tipping point. Our choices and actions have led to climate change, potential nuclear annihilation, wealth inequality and many more societal and physical ills. We may become the first species to cause its own extinction.

We can change the world. . .

It's not going to be easy. Change never is. And BIG change is even more difficult.

So. . . best get started.

To make a better world, we need to first understand what a 'better world' is.

This is not a subjective question. Or an idealogical one. It is actually a factual one. The living creatures that have come before us have honed and polished the rules for succssful living for millions of years. Scientists have unearthed these successful mechanisms.

When we understand how our predecessors have built such successful survival strategies, we can then adapt them to fit our special human superpower of choice. We will then be able to make decisions to increase our chance of long term survival, protect the environment and and even live more peacefully.

Join the Movement

It's pretty easy. You don't have to sign up for anything. You don't have to contribute any money to anyone. You don't even need to buy the book that describes how humans work. You just need to commit to one action. It is the very same action that cells perform every single day of their lives. It is the one goal they are required to live by so they can survive and the body in which they live can survive. The difference is: cells can't choose to act this way. But you? Choice is your superpower. So, if you want to make this change you must choose to do so. So here it is. To join the movement . . .

You are free to choose whatever actions you want to do, but do no harm to anyone else or the environment.

The Developer of the Ideasphere Theory

Anne Riley Informal copy.png
Armed with a stellar academic record, a degree in Accounting and an MBA, Anne Riley pursued a meaningful life in the business world.

After years in various industries including food processing, high tech manufacturing, database design, elementary level teaching, system development, product distribution, private banking and writing, she realized that meaning is not easy to find.

Of course, she was looking in the wrong place. Undeterred and influenced by Michael Rothschild's Bionomics as well as the works of Charles Darwin, Stephen J. Gould, and countless other famous scientists, she used her experiences to develop a theory known as the Ideasphere. The Ideasphere  is an extension of the natural ecosystem but has its foundation in human ideas.

The theory is articulated in the Socratic novel DINA: Nature's Case for Democracy and the non-fiction book The Human Idea, Earth's Newest Ecosystem.
